About Me
Katie Monnig— Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
I’ve been a therapist for over a decade, but I’m also a mom, partner, sister, friend—and at times, a client too. My own difficult birth and postpartum experiences showed me just how deeply the right kind of support matters. Sometimes everything feels like too much — or nothing like you expected.
You might feel overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure why things feel harder than they “should.” Many women carry a quiet sense that they’re struggling more than they want to admit, while still prioritizing everyone else.
My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I aim to be a steady, authentic person in the room with you, offering acceptance, curiosity, and compassion. More than anything, I want to help you reconnect with yourself—even when that feels buried under exhaustion, worry, or the pressure to hold it all together.
I work with women and moms navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and the transitions of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood — including experiences like birth trauma, postpartum depression, pregnancy loss, and identity shifts.
Outside of therapy, I’m a lifelong musician, aspiring herbalist, baker, and avid reader.
If you’d like to explore whether working together feels like a good fit, I’d love to connect.
My Approach
I bring a holistic and integrative style to counseling—blending different methods depending on your particular needs and goals. I consider it a deep privilege to be a compassionate witness and collaborate with my clients. Most of all, I’m here to be fully present with you and help you reconnect with your own needs.
Mindfulness
Slowing down and paying attention to the present moment. Helping you create a little more space to breathe, respond, and care for yourself with intention.
Somatic and Mind-Body Therapy
Learning how to tune into your body’s signals and sensations. We move out of analyzing and problem-solving, and bring curiosity to the wisdom of the body.
EMDR Therapy
A way of re-igniting the body and mind’s natural healing capabilities. This allows a reproessing of difficult or traumatic events that feel stuck. Learn more here.
Parts Work/IFS Informed
A gentle approach that helps you get to know the different parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion, creating more balance and self-understanding.

What it Feels Like to Work Together:
In our sessions, you’ll have a steady, calm, and supportive space that’s just for you—no judgment, no pressure. We follow the natural flow of what you’re feeling and thinking, and at times I’ll gently encourage you to dig a bit deeper. My clients frequently tell me that they appreciate my calm and supportive presence, and my ability to bring in different perspectives and practical tools. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling a little more like yourself—grounded, capable, and not so alone in it all.
